Europen collection; before that, directly acquired in the Rosebud reservation, South Dakota. NOTE:The paper on which the ledger drawings have been made is original of the time indicated by the date shown above, appropriate test can prove it.
For the drawings therein: we do not know when (time and place) and who made them. As far as we know, they were certainly bought at Rosebud reservation, in South Dakota by a native Sicangu family. To the best of our knowledge, they could (we do not know by direct knowledge, the conditional is a must) be reproductions of drawings of the time (late 1800s - early 1900s,), it was a common pratice in reservations, but certainly made on "ledger book" paper which is confirmed to be original of the time indicated by the date shown above left. About the date in which the drawings we think that they were made by those natives that had these sheets available, around the years 1920-40.
