Native American Pueblo Gourd Fertility Figure Heishi beads. Late19th cent

This is a rare and beautiful Pueblo fertility figure which was manufactured in the late 19th century.. It is made of gourd; natural orange and black pigments cover body and head..... The bulbous lower extremity tapers; the last 1.5 inches of this is bereft of paint.....

Suggesting this small area would've been inserted in the ground to hold it upright. Possibly linked to some female coming of age ceremony? This figure retains the original glass trade beads and Heishi shells necklace...... The interesting thing is that it passes right through a hole at the nape.

This charming necklace was made just for this doll. This object would've been handed down from mother to daughter as a token of womanhood.

Both, doll and necklace are in very good condition of being over 100+ years old!! The figure's length is about 9 inches; width (at shoulders) about 3 inches.
