Museum quality Eskimo / Inuit all purpose knife - from around 1890s - 1920s. It is a very elegant historic artifact..... They don't make such things anymore! All 3 parts of this knife were handmade by Native Alaskan hands: the blade; the handle and the rivets / pegs which hold in place the two main parts -- all made from Caribou Antler....... This type of multi-purpose knife would've been of immense importance to its owners -- activities essential to their existence, as-in..... Building Igloos (snow knife); gut scraping (making of Anoraks); snow story telling (making designs in snow to tell stories); cutting sinew/flesh of seals/whales - when sharp enough (the present example is not as sharp as it used to be)..... Furthermore, these important implements were highly valued as family heirlooms....

This artifact is in fantastic condition for being over 100 years old! Total length is 14.5 inches......
