German bisque AM Scowling Indian dolls w Baby in beaded buckskin outfits ORIG
This listing is for a Trio of Scowling Indian dolls by Armand Marseille of Germany. The Male Indian doll: 9.5 tall. All original condition, dressed in beaded and fringed buckskin coat, pants, and mocassins. There is also a beaded belt that keeps his coat closed. He retains his original black mohair wig designed with a center part and a long braid on each side. His eyes are wacky, but they are in their original setting, so this is how they came. His color is fired on and there appears to be an uneven area around his mouth.
He retains his 5 piece lower quality composition body. The Female doll: 9 tall. All original condition, dressed in beaded and fringed buckskin dress with a beaded belt at her waist. She retains her original black mohair wig with a center part and one long braid in the back.
Note that she is wearing her baby in a papoose that attaches with shoulder straps. She also retains her lower quality composition body.NOTE: She has a hairline on her forehead and there is a shiny spot between her eye brows, which I THINK is old glue. The baby: This doll is tied inside of the papoose and has likely never been removed. He/she appears to be painted bisque, which was common for these infants. From the shape of the leather papoose, it appears that this doll has jointed arms and legs and lays upon a painted wood board.
