Great old early Painted Acoma Pueblo Rattle out of my parents collection. Measures a total length of 13" long (including the top piece), x 6 1/2" across at the center. It is totally painted on one side with great designs, and a few on the back as well.
It has little scattered paint loss, more on the sides and back, as shown. The wood handle measures 5 1/4" long from the bottom to where it is connected to the gourd, x 1 1/4" wide and has a piece of rawhide as a handle to hang it by. A wonderful, hard to find, piece of early Native folk art, coming from a smoke free home. Please check out my other auctions for other Native pieces, fine collectibles and Art, and more.
