This basket is one of many N. Indian baskets collected by the Doran family of N.

This berry gathering basket is 7.5" tall and 9" in diameter. It has a round bottom and round top with braided rim. The designs are stacked rectangles. It's made with the organic materials common to the region: Cedar and Spruce root. There is cord woven through the rim and soft cotton rope attached. Unfortunately we do not know who the weaver was. It's very old and used with signs of wear as pictured. We have not tried to clean it in any way - it is as-found.
Please examine the pictures carefully; we've tried to capture every angle for you. Another great example to add to your collection!
