An exceptional, rare depiction of Native Americans holding bows, dating to the first half of the 19th century. This highly unusual work depicts a group of native men standing near a fire and holding bows.

A group of figures also sits by the log fire near a pair of open teepees. The landscape suggests that the setting may be in the western part of America.

The work is unsigned; however, an attribution is likely possible by the right scholar given how few artists created subjects of this type at the time. The work is an oil on canvas and is unframed. 12 inches tall by 14 inches wide. Condition : Good antique overall condition.
