Antique Northwest Coast Native American Indian Cowlitz Pictorial Basket. Northwest Coast Cowlitz Indian coiled basket with tapered body and inverted rim, a rare form. Tightly woven with cherry bark imbrication. Human and zoomorphic figures, possibly a depiction of man's transformation to spirit world.

Dating from late 19th century. Measures 8" wide x 5" tall. Very good condition with mild wear to rim.
