This particular totem stands 25-1/2 tall. It is in very good condition with a couple of minor "dings" to it, please see photos. It also has a slight tilt to the right when you are facing it. This can easily be corrected with a very small piece of felt or cork underneath the base.
It's not bad, but it's there. It is carved out of handhewn cedar. This piece is not signed.
From the patina on the wood I would date this piece at the late 1800s to the very early 1900s. The top of the totem bears the image of a Thunderbird. Below that is a bear that is holding a man and another man's face in between the bear's ears. The bottom figure is that of a beaver.
This really is a magnificent piece! This an exceptional example of an early vintage model totem pole that is becoming harder to find all the time.
