VERY RARE 18TH CENTURY HURON EMBROIDERED DEER HIDE WATCH POCKET - FINE CONDITION. A very well preserved Huron watch pocket with floral embroidery on deer hide. 2 3/8" wide by 4 1/8" tall. It clearly shows the influence of the Ursuline Sisters in Quebec, who taught this style of embroidery to the Huron and other tribes of the Northeast in the late 17th and early 18 centuries. There are a few dropped stitches on the green ribbon border, but no other damage, and, for its age, it is surprisingly clean and bright.
