Stunning museum quality 9 inch tall NWC killer whale mask. Most are called hawk mask with this kind of nose, but round eyes and large teeth are details related to the killer whale.

The nose has a small fish tail on it near the mouth. Original paint and materials, cedar ca. The back is painted black, but you can see and smell old cedar wood at the edge.

The paint is applied with great precision in patterns of maroon, pale green and coral pink. There is a light coat of varnish applied to give the paint a glossy surface, but in a few areas, you can see the paint is flat milk paint. Identified as a hawk by the beak nose with hair protruding from the eye sockets and opercula glued into the mouth for teeth. Looks like shell inlay, with light coat of paint, on side of nose and maybe eyebrows.
