Here is a very rare O'odham burden basket from the late 19th century - early 20th century time period. The basket was made by either the Tohono or Akimel O'odham. Constructed of cords made of netting supported by a wood hoop and three rods. The netting has a design and the weaver added faint red pigment to some of the areas. The basket is very old and shows wear but overall is in good condition for its age. It does appear to be missing one stick. A catalog number is attached, but unfortunately no collection history was known. I guarantee all item 100%.
