Send me your best offers! For sale is a fantastic Indian dag knife circa 1840.Plains Indian origin, most likely Sioux Indian. Large I&H SORBY mark in sawtooth cartouche, slightly hidden under the bone handle which means the blade was cut down at one time in its life and re-handled. The blade may have been a longer buffalo lance blade that was cut down, or a large bowie knife blade re-purposed. The handle is tight and secure. Several old iron pins holding the tang in place.
Excellent "in the metal" patina on the blade. Fuller runs the entire length of the blade on both sides. This knife belongs in a museum or an advanced collection.
Its a one of a kind! 15.5" long and the blade is 9" long. From my grandfathers estate, he was a lifelong collector of Indian and military artifacts.I guarantee this knife to be genuine and authentic for life. Please ask any questions you may have.
