It has visible red paint and 3 hair drops hanging from the middle of the Shield. A bird effigy can be made out near the bottom. The hide as well as the straps and hair drops are attached with sinew.
It has a bit of weight to it when held and feels like it would really do its job well. The previous owner dated it to the later half of the 1800's and said the piece came from the Cree Indians. The pictures don't do it justice because it has a great glow when held in the light. Just right for a centerpiece.Please view photos because they are the best description.
