On consignment from the Impressive and well documented private collection of Mr. Richards collection includes one of the finest collection of Native American Indian artefacts as well as a special interest in Executioner swords, axes and other related items. This very early Native American Spike Tomahawk from the 1700s. It originates from Europe and was traded by colonialists with members of the Iroquois tribe.The Iroquois are considered to be the fiercest eastern native American tribes. This untouched museum quality curved spike measures 83 cm total length, 14 cm wide blade, 15.5 cm head. This particular example was featured in "Ornamental Indian Artefacts" by Lar Hothem, p. 389, also "Who's Who in Indian Relics" vol.
This rare axe has an original long ash handle with chipped red ochre war paint. The end has black paint with the initial W engraved. It has a brass end cap with square nails holding head of axe. Hard to find such examples of museum grade with such provenance. Kindly note only the axe is on offer and any other items in the photographs as solely on display.
