Native American Indian Iroquois beaded purse (radiating design). A small leather pouch purse with a strap handle covered in cloth with a radiating bead glass bead pattern and a border of small metal beads.
Late 19th century/early 20th century. Has an Ian Morris West Collection (IMW) label.He was friends with Edward H. Colin Taylor (1937 2004) a noted ethnologist on the subject. He had a museum at his home The Forge in Sussex. He wrote Portraits of Native Americans published by Salamander Books in 1997. Dimensions: purse 10cm long with bead fringe x 9cm wide.
