Avery fine rare early Yupik Alaskan Eskimo twined knob top storage basket dating from the very early 1900's. This is one of two great Yupik knob top baskets we're offering. Woven from sea grasses and the complex intricate geometric design featuring multiple rows of vertically orientated crosses and pair of rectangles. The patterns from natural berry dyes. The basket measures stands 9 1/4" high and 8 1/2" in max diameter and is in very good condition for its age with no repairs or damages noted, some mild fading of the dyes as expected with great age. A very pleasing well proportioned bright design basket that stands out among the many. This museum quality basket makes an excellent display item and a fine addition to anyone's collection.
