Here's an original Native American Iroquois beaded fabric leaf shape used for a picture frame or mirror, meant to hang. It is dated with beads at the bottom, 1906. It has the classic bead types, attachment work, and motifs.
The leaf shape has five points and there are three groups of beads dangling below. A string of beads on top was meant for hanging. The leaf measures 8 1/2" tall without the dangling pieces or top hanger, and 7" wide. The artwork and beads look nice and bold. The center leaf part is 100% and everything is tight with nothing missing inside and along the edges.
The top hanger string is detached on one side. A knot is on the open end so no beads can come off. At the bottom the center and right side danglers are all intact.
The center has six complete loops an the right has four complete loops. The left one had four complete loops, but now has only two.Two remaining strings there with an open end still have a some small amber beads still on. Near the top is an opening to put a photo or mirror in. Right now there is round piece of glass in there.
