Sacred rattle utilised in the Lakota Sioux ceremonies. 23 cm (inches: 9") with the inferior part stretched: 38 cm (15"). Sewn by deer tendons, internal handle in willow wood covered with deer hide. Inside the artifact are presumably inserted little quartz stones. The part under the handle is dried up and bent upward due to age. Certainly utilised in holy ceremonies. Amazing patina from use and age. Before that, aquired in 1994 from discendents of High Horse family, Rosebud Sioux Tribe - Two Strike district.
