Very rare and beautiful, ca1900 Native American Great Lakes Indian Bead Decorated, Hide Possible Bag / Jingle Bag / Dance Bag believed to be Chippewa or possibly Cree. This outstanding turn of the 20th century Beaded Hide Possible Bag measures approx. 16" long overall and 6" wide. The bead decoration is beautiful and very well preserved.This wonderful Chippewa Indian Jingle Bag is thread and sinew sewn by hand with floral beadwork decoration featuring Charlotte cut dark blue, amber, and light translucent blue and apple red white-heart, pink, and pea green seed beads; Charlotte cut iridescent beads add additional sparkle to the bag. The entire Tobacco Bag is hide including the throat and the bottom edge features buckskin fringe with clear and green tubular beads with tin cones. Additional tin tinkers on the ends of the drawstring are made from what appears to have been a tobacco tin. The Jingle Bag / Possible bag offered here is unconditionally guaranteed original and of the period. It is NOT a reproduction or modern recreation but an original Great Lakes Indian Dance Bag crafted around the turn of the 20th century.
