Blackinton Novelty Porringer with Native American Motif. Made by Blackinton in North Attleboro, Mass.
Tapering sides, reeded and raised foot, and open fleur de lys handle. On exterior are acid-etched frames with scenes from Native American history after the arrival of the English and Europeans: The First Thanksgiving, La Salle Plans Louisiana, Pocahontas and John Smith, Indians of the Plains, and Purchasing Manhattan. Charming but historically slanted depictions of canoe-paddling, feather-wearing, tomahawk-wielding indigenes. Very much a period piece. Very good condition with strong definition.Dimensions: H 2 1/8 x W 6 x D 4 5/8 in. Weight: 6.7 troy ounces. #BP103 Nelson & Nelson Antique Silver has been serving the Antique Lovers for 35 years.
