This gorgeous Sterling Silver bracelet was handmade by a talented Navajo silversmith during the 1960s! It features a stunning Robin's Egg Blue Cripple Creek Turquoise stone with a subtle swirling teal matrix. The stone retains its natural shape, and was hand formed into a rounded cabochon. The turquoise is held in a Sterling Silver bezel that has been notched along the edges for an eye-catching texture, and is framed on either side by two hand-formed and applied curving feathers.
The cuff itself features a split, double carinated cuff that tapers from a wide central section down to thinner ends. The cuff features a slightly oblong shape for a more natural fit on the wrist. There is a crack in the stone, but this does not affect the beauty or wear of the piece and the stone is secure in its setting. The price has been adjusted to reflect this. This beautiful piece was made by a very talented Native American silversmith. It features hand crafted silversmith work throughout. Antique Native American jewelry is very rare to find. This is due to these pieces being made for reservation and personal use before the tourist trade became popular.
Very few pieces were made and even less survived to today. Cripple Creek Turquoise is found in Colorado and has a range of colors from blue with brown matrix to green and brown matrix, the green hue being the more rare.
The mine was originally a gold mine and Turquoise was pulled out as a byproduct of the mining. Today it is highly valued due to its extreme beauty and rarity.
