925 sterling silver bracelet features a beautiful azuite stone. The stone has a lovely opaque bright green hue with lighter green striations and a deep blue matrix.
Resting securely in a saw tooth bezel setting, the stone is bordered by a rope twist frame and silver beads. The band of the bracelet contains cross-cross arrow designs, as well as hand-hammered stampings of arrow and geometric motifs. This item contains some tarnish which gives it a lovely antique quality.
One small area of the band has been repaired at some point in the bracelet's history; there is some solder visible on the inside of the band, but this is hardly visible and does not affect wear. The inside of the band also contains some wear and scratches. The stone may be a replacement stone from later in the bracelet's history, but the stone perfectly complements the band. The price has been reduced to reflect this.

The concept of Pawn, Old Pawn, and Dead Pawn Native American Jewelry came to be in the 1800s. When a loan wasnt repaid, the item became known as either Old Pawn or Dead Pawn. The Navajo Nation sits on 27,000 square miles within the states of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. The Navajo have a rich history and culture and have become known for creating some of the finest sterling silver and turquoise jewelry, incorporating their own traditional motifs with silversmithing. The squash blossom necklace is perhaps one the most famous Navajo styles produced, along with turquoise inlay rings. Turquoise is an important stone in Navajo culture; symbolizing happiness, good fortune, and good health. The first Navajo silversmith, Atsidi Sani, was taught around 1865 by a Mexican silversmith.
Atsidi Sani, in turn, taught his four sons, who then started teaching other Navajo artisans. In the beginning, Navajo artisans created sterling silver jewelry for themselves and others in the Navajo Nation.Azurite is a soft stone that is named for the intense azure blue color it exhibits. It is a copper carbonate mineral found often in oxidized copper ore. Azurite is extremely sensitive to heat which makes the stone difficult to work with. It was highly prized in ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, and the Persian Empire because blue was considered a sacred color. During the Medieval and Renaissance periods, Azurite was ground up and used as a pigment in painting.
