Antique POLYCHROME Nampeyo Hopi Yellow Ware Pottery Native American Early 20th
C e l es ti a l N o n e s u ch. A gorgeous polychrome yellowware bowl. Presumably first half of the 20th century Hopi, most likely a member of the Nampeyo family, this piece includes some unusually seen elements in Hopi pottery, such as the black painted rim, but also the finish is indicative of a younger potter's hand - probably Fannie Nampeyo, who had an illustrious pottery career following her mother's footsteps. A great object for study or display, this will make a nice addition to any student or appreciators collection of Native American art and artifacts. Good condition with some paint loss.
