Antique Northwest Coast Horn Spoon Haida or Tlingit Tribal Native Totem Old NWC. This type of spoon was made from the horn of mountain goat. This type of spoon would have been pre-1900. These spoons were used at ceremonies and potlaches. This particular spoon was made of two horns that were carved and then pegged together.
This spoon was decommissioned from a small museum at the old Seattle marine aquarium, which closed in the late 70's. I would guess that this is either Haida or Tlingit. Wear throughout commensurate with age. 8.5 inches long, 2.25 inches wide. Comes with a custom made stand. Please be sure to check out my other NWC Items. Get Images that Make Supersized Seem Small.
