ANTIQUE NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN USED SWORD ALTERED FROM EARLY AMERICAN OR ENGLISH FASCINATING SWORD USED BY AMERICAN INDIANS AND ALTERED FROM THE EARLY AMERICAN OR ENGLISH BATTLE SABER TO THEIR TASTE OF DECORATIONS BY WRAPPING THE GRIP IN BUFFALO HIDE AND ADDING ELEMENTS OF LEATHER, BEAD WORK AND AMERICAN SOLDIER'S BUTTONS AS WELL AS PIECES OF UNIFORM CLOTH TO THE HILT AND LEATHER OVER WOOD SCABBARD. HILT MOUNTS ARE OF BRASS METAL.
CONDITION IS VERY GOOD WITH PATINA AND LIGHT WEAR, BLADE AND HILT ARE TIGHT. LIKELY EARLY TO MID 1800s. TOTAL LENGTH IS 33 1/4" BLADE LENGTH IS 28 1/2".
