Antique Large Klickitat Native American Indian Salish Coiled Berry Basket
Coiled Klickitat (Columbia River, Washington State) Northwest Coast Salish Native American. Red cedar berry basket with polychrome fully-imbricated design, featuring large repeating "spread out" fern motifs, checkered and solid lozenge motifs in dark brown (mud-dyed red cedar), brown (red cedar) and white (bear grass). Design elements bookended by dark brown horizontal bands below the rim and at the base. Crenelated continuous top loop rim. Basket is overall in excellent condition.
