Offering a nice antique ca. Late 19th/early 20th century pair of Sioux (Plains Native American Indian) beaded hide moccasins, thread and sinew sewn, decorated with red white hearts?, opaque sky blue, opaque white and faceted'marcasite' glass trade seed beads in geometric patterns. Tine cone pendants grace each moccasin's single tongue. Each moccasin measures about 11 L. Rawhide bottoms show nice wear/evidence of Native use, and the uppers are fairly supple.
Overall in very good condition for age, with nice preservation of beadwork. Right moccasin's tongue shows some surface grime on beadwork, and is missing one pair of tin cones; some light dirt build up on beadwork. Left moccasin shows a small rectangle of bead loss on vamp, and a single strand of missing white beads on the toe; some light dirt build up on beadwork.
Please see photos to better ascertain condition. Please feel free to ask questions. Please see my other listings!
