Antique 1908 Native American Indian Print Albert H Sonn Nice Primitive Frame
Sonn - 1908 at bottom-right. Subject is depicted in full headdress in a mix of traditional and western dress, proudly looking slightly off to the side. Note two small areas along left edge where there is either some debris between the print and glass, or the print surface itself has adhered to the glass and detached (see photo) - otherwise, print appears quite clean and appealing. Framed under glass in what appears to be its original framing - note that the frame has quite a bit of damage - there were decorative motifs of bows, arrows, slings and a Native American rowing a canoe attached to the surface, but they are largely broken away and missing - there are still ghostlike impressions of them visible, though, which gives the presentation a haunting, sort of primitive look. Other scratch and wear evident, including that the raised edge of the frame is broken off along the bottom and at bottom corners - see photos. Print and frame together remain a nice antique piece, though, as well as nice Western Americana art.
