The owner of the estate had a large collection of these paddles that they had collected through the years. The longest paddle measures 23" long by 4 1/2" across. It has a great old patina and has been beautifully carved on the front and back. The tip is a little rough and there are some light nicks and scratches. The 2nd paddle measures 16 1/4" long by 2 3/4" wide. It has been beautifully shaped and has a great old patina.
It has been painted on both sides. The paint is very worn and there is roughness at the tip and nicks along both edges. Also, the knob at the end of the handle looks to be partly missing. The third paddle measures the same length 16 1/4" by 2 3/4" wide. The surface has a polished feel to it - it is very soft and smooth. This paddle has been carved on one side. There are some nicks at the edges of this paddle, but overall, including the tip and handle are in very good condition and it has a great old patina. The smallest, 4th, paddle measures 15 1/8" long and 1 1/2" wide.
It has been painted on both sides, but it is difficult to make out the design. Also, the tip looks to have been bent about 1/2 down. These paddles may be from different Northwest Coast tribes. Most of the designs look very similar to the Haida and Tllingit. New items will be listed every week. Our prices are better than wholesale.
